About Us

‘ORTOPEDIK’ Association of People with Disabilities is a voluntary, non-profit organization based in Vrsac, Serbia. The association was founded on August 14, 2024, on the principle of free association of individuals and legal entities.

Our mission is to achieve and promote common goals in the fields of humanitarian, social and health protection, education, employment, human rights protection, and social responsibility. We are dedicated to improving the position of persons with disabilities in society.

Our main activities include:

  • Organizing rehabilitation, educational workshops, expert panels, counseling sessions, seminars, excursions, and volunteer actions
  • Providing assistive devices and other medical equipment
  • Care and support for all categories of persons with disabilities

Our specific goals are:

  • Providing support and advocacy for the realization and protection of human rights of persons with disabilities in accordance with national and international legal frameworks
  • Encouraging and supporting the education of persons with disabilities with the aim of integration into regular educational institutions and lifelong learning programs
  • Ensuring equal employment opportunities, including incentives for employers and professional training programs
  • Organizing and providing quality social and health services tailored to the needs of persons with disabilities
  • Developing programs and services that enable persons with disabilities to live independently and in an integrated manner within the community
  • Organizing sports activities and sports education in cooperation with professional organizations, federations, and clubs both domestically and internationally
  • Encouraging participation in cultural and sports activities to improve quality of life and promote social integration
  • Raising public awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and promoting positive examples of their integration into society
  • Establishing cooperation with various organizations, institutions, and bodies for the exchange of experience and joint action for the benefit of persons with disabilities
  • Initiating and supporting changes to laws and regulations aimed at improving the position of persons with disabilities in society

Our governing bodies are:

  • General Assembly (composed of all members with equal voting rights)
  • Association Representative (responsible for the legality, organization, and management of the association’s activities)

Membership is open to any individual who accepts the goals of the association and the Statute. Persons over 14 years of age may become members with the consent of their legal representative.

The association operates on the territory of the Republic of Serbia and is open to cooperation with other associations and organizations both domestically and internationally.
